Sunday, November 29, 2020 Worship Service:
We will be suspending in-person worship on Sundays
Nov. 29, Dec. 6, and Dec. 13, with a planned resumption of in-person worship on
Dec 20. We will be following all Government mandates regarding these matters.
This is a voluntary action for us. We are doing this
to do our small part in our small portion of the world to reduce the
interactions in our social bubbles. In this way, we serve God by serving our
neighbours.
Wearing a mask in necessary for all in attendance.,
including Worship Leaders/Readers. This goes above and beyond the recently
issued Government mandates, which, in consultation with "Faith Group
Leaders" has allowed for "Worship Leaders/Readers" not to have
to wear masks as long as they are at least 3 meters from participants in
worship.
We believe this is wrong.
As members of a faith community, and in obedience to
our Lord's Command to love our neighbours as ourselves, we feel that all people
in attendance at Worship services need to wear masks.
In addition, we do this because the COVID-19 virus
is still spreading wildly; this is our small contribution to the general health
and well-being of our community of Saskatoon.
As well, Worship Leaders/Readers are in leadership
positions, and by wearing masks, they model essential practices for the safety
of their communities and the larger community of Saskatchewan.
We are calling on the "Faith Leaders"
group to rescind this request, and follow the protocols set for all in worship.
